Missing....

I just wanted to say that I am still around. I have been MIA for a while now. I have been trying to clean out the scrapbook room so that I can have a scrapbook garage sale. I didn't realize how much stuff I have until started rearranging the room a bit. I could have my own store back there. LOL.

I have also been a bit under the weather. I went to the doctor for a regular check-up and they suggested I get a pneumonia shot since I have Lupus. I didn't think anything of it and agreed to get the shot. Well, that turned out to be a bad idea. By that evening I was in so much pain. I couldn't move my arm and was running a 102.6 fever. So the next morning I called my doctor and she wanted me to come back in. That afternoon I went to see my doctor after being sick all morning long. She told me I had cellulitis (a bacterial infection under the skin). She said of the seven years that she had been at that clinic that she had only seen this happen twice and I was the second one. Yay me, lol. So she drew a line around the large red, swollen area on my arm, started me on some antibiotics, told me I should start feeling better after about six hours and if the redness or swelling goes outside of the line to go to the emergency room. Well as my luck would have it, about a day later the redness had spread outside of the line and a new spot was forming underneath the original spot. So, off to the ER I went. They looked at it and said that it had definitely spread and put me on i.v. antibiotics immediately and sent me home with a second antibiotic to take in addition to the one I was already taking. That was two days ago. Today I can move my arm a bit better and it doesn't hurt so much to lay down now, but it is still a bit swollen and sore. Thanks again immune system for being so messed up. Who knew this could happen from a shot that was supposed to help you. It's just my luck. I hope to continue to get better daily cuz for now the cleaning and rearranging of the scrap room is on hold. Thanks everyone for stopping by and I hope to be back in full swing in the next few days.

Mini Album Sold on eBay

I thought I would share some images of this mini chipboard album that I recently created. It sold on eBay, but I wanted to share it so my followers can get an idea of they types of items that I create since I'm such a new blogger. In the future, I will be posting the items on my blog at the same time I post them for sale on eBay. I am also thinking about having items listed here on my blog that don't sell in on eBay. So, keep an eye out for those items.

Here is the second card that I've made. I used Echo Park Paper on this card and colored the stamp with Copic Markers. I accented the image with matching Spica pens. There are two matching Prima flowers with a saying the middle of the flowers on pop dots.

This is the first card that I have made. I saw an easel card online and thought I would give it a shot. I found this stamp at Hobby Lobby a few weeks back when they had their stamps on sale for half off. I have been purchasing Copics because I saw that many stampers use them. I am no where near as good at coloring with them as many stampers, but I hope to slowly improve my coloring abilities. I hope to be able to find some online tutorials that may help. I used Echo Park paper and one of the square paper doilies that I found online. I hope you all enjoy this card as much as I do. I am very proud of my first card.

This is a small vintage drawer that I found at a local antique store. I then found the mini vintage fan and perfume bottle and knew I had to make a little something with all of my new finds.

I put paper on the bottom (back) of the drawer. I put a little distressing ink on the fan and then glued it to the back of the drawer. I added a Tim Holtz hanger, a watch face by Paper Studio, and a metal flower embelishment. I tied a small ribbon bow on the vintage bottle and added it to the drawer as well. I added a paper flower to the inside of the drawer.
On the outside of the drawer I added a paper doily that I added some distressing ink to, a matching paper flower, and some pearl flourishes. I think it turned out so pretty. It's the perfect size for a desk or side table. Maybe even a mantle. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and I hope you like my creation.
